Big News! Two Dance Families Become One

Cochrane, Alberta – It is with great enthusiasm that Michelle Greenwell, owner of Dance Debut, and Courtney Sproule, owner of Studio MC, announce the coming together of two dance families.

Dance Debut and Studio MC will unite as one dance studio and be renamed. The new studio brand will be unveiled on June 5 at the Studio MC recital.

“I am so excited to bring together the energy of these two studios,” says Courtney. “We will create amazing dance works and wonderful memories in the years to come.”

Courtney will take over as director of the new studio and Michelle will step down to pursue other opportunities. It is with great sadness that Michelle retires, she has motivated the Cochrane community to get up and dance for 22 years and leaves behind an inspiring legacy.

“The timing of this transition worked well for both of us,” says Michelle. “I was ready to pursue other interests and Courtney was ready to take on this new venture.”

Michelle and Courtney have been collaborating on programming for next season, capitalizing on the expertise and experience of both directors.

Classes will run as usual at both locations until the end of June, at which time operations will begin to transition to the current Dance Debut location.

More information on the transition and the 2010/11 dance season will be sent out to students shortly. Dancers and parents are encouraged to contact Michelle and Courtney if they have any questions or concerns.

SUMMER DANCE CAMPS!

Small Wonders Camp (Ages 3-6)
A full week of cheer, hip hop, musical theatre, jazz, arts & crafts, movement games and more! No experience necessary.
July 12-16 OR Aug 9-13
Half days: 9:00am-Noon
Location: Current Studio MC space
Early bird: $145 +GST (by June 2)
Regular rate: $165 +GST

Groove It Camp (Ages 6-11)
A high energy week packed with hip hop, cheer, musical theatre, jazz, outside activities and more! Guest teachers include a real CFL Stampeders Cheerleader. No experience necessary.
July 26-30 9:00am-4:00pm
Location: Current Studio MC space
Early bird: $250 +GST (by June 2)
Regular rate: $280 +GST

Whipped Into Shape Camp (Ages 8+)
For experienced dancers who want to get back into shape before the season starts. Expect lots of sweat and sore muscles after this exciting week that includes jazz, lyrical, hip hop, stretching and more.
Aug 23-27
9:00am-4:00pm
Location: New studio space
Early bird: $250 +GST (by June 2)
Regular rate: $280 +GST

Open House
Bring your friends to class during open house week (May 25-31)! Be sure your pals arrive 15 minutes early to sign in with their parent/guardian.

Parent Committee Update
The year-end family and friends BBQ will be on Saturday June 5, 2010 at 6:00pm. We have booked the Cochrane Ranche Site by the outside stage on Highway 1A. Tickets are $7.50 for adults and $5.00 for children (10 & under). We will supply smokies, hot dogs, salads, chips, pop, water, watermelon and cake. Tickets will be available at the same time as recital ticket sales:
- Weds, May 26 - 5:00-7:00pm
- Tues, June 1 - 5:00-7:00pm
- Weds, June 2 - 5:00-7:00pm
We need a few volunteers to help with the BBQ. If you wish to volunteer, or you have any questions please email mcdancers@shaw.ca.
